On the 26th of March 2019, A delegation from the world financial body, World Bank visited the Food Research Institute’s Agri-Business Division in Pokuase. The delegation of the World Bank paid a courtesy call to make inquiries on the state of the Ethanol and Glucose plant housed in Pokuase. Also in attendance were the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Engineers from FARA and the WAAP secretariat.
Food Research Institute led by the director of the institute, the deputy director, project administrator, and the accountant led the representatives to tour the plant to see the progress made so far. The teams present were taken through the processes and stages of production and shown the stage at which the plant operated and its level of completion.
At the meeting held at the conference room, the delegation from the World Bank remarked about the excellent strides being made and promised to do all in their power to ensure the release of funds for the completion of the plant to ensure optimum productivity.
The Chief Programs Officer of the WAAP and the Minister of Food and Agriculture also pledged funds to aid in the completion of the ethanol and glucose project.
