An orientation programme has been held for the 2019/2020 National Service Personnel of the CSIR-FRI.
The Deputy Director of the Institute, Dr. Charles Tortoe, proceeded with an opening remark to address the house, especially, National Service Personnel present. In his speech, he challenged all personnel to work diligently and most importantly leave a good name and legacy. He proceeded by enlightening all with a presentation on the Institute’s profile, highlighting its products, services, achievements, and challenges. In his address to the personnel, he emphasized that the Institute accepted forty-three (43) personnel because he believes with the fresh and innovative minds of the young, the challenges of the Institute could be curbed.
The respective heads of division and representatives of the heads present continued with individual pep talks to encourage and caution personnel. In pursuit of change in this dynamic world, proactiveness, smartness, punctuality, integrity, and innovation must be the hallmark of every personnel, they said. The compliance code for employees was well explained, followed by an open forum for personnel to ask questions and make suggestions.
The Deputy Director again advised personnel to work diligently, humbly and yet steadily in order to achieve the desired goals of the Institute and also to improve upon the individual selves of all present, this was said in his closing remarks.
The orientation came to an end with a vote of thanks by Miss. Sonia Mary Attipoe and a closing prayer by Miss. Eclipseena Naaa Oboshie Johnson, both Service Personnel. After a soothing refreshment provided by the management of the Institute, Ms. Gloria Ghansah took personnel out to tour the entire environs of the Institute.
